On August the 13'th. in the early morning, members of the club, Hans, Søren, Pernille og Malthe, went to Sweden to visit Mr. Timbre. At the very first Sonus faber-meeting Timbre invited us to his home in, so that we finally could get to hear his wonderful Amati Speakers.

The shipping route through the Swedish skerries is very exciting as you can see all the many small islands from the boat.

At about 11.00 PM we arrived to the harbour and Timbre picked us up as we had appointed.

The first item on the agenda was actually to see the largest Sonus faber dealer in Scandinavia: "HIFI Stället". Unfortunately the owner had the shop closed that day! But through the heavily guarded windows we could see the incredible assortment: including the top reference sonus faber speakers like Stradivari, Amati and the Guarneri Homage.

The visit at Timbre was after all the primary event for the day. When we arrived at Timbres home, he switched on the system, though his Accuphase M 8000 doesn't take that long to heat up. After a nice cup of coffee, we were ready to listen.

Being in Timbres listening room is quite a stunning experience, and you can probably see the reason why!

In his listening room, Timbre has also organized a kind of Sonus faber museum, with Extrema, Guarneri, Electa Amator II and Minima Amator. Timbre is a true Sonus faber - enthusiast!

To reach his personal goal for musical reproduction, Timbre uses vast amounts of Energy-transformers from "Shakti Innovations" and "Energy-transformers".

Clearly Timbre has put together a system that sounds fantastic. In every aspect he has optimized the sound according to his preferences and music styles. It was a great experience to heir the Amati's on Timbres equipment.

After many hours of listening to music, we went out for a walk in "Central Park" (Slottsskogen).

Timbre is indeed living in a very nice city, and hopefully this is not the last time we get to hear Timbres setup and seeing the city.
